A Special Announcement From Andy Hermanson

Ignition Friends and Family,

As you may be aware, I have been a student at Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, MN for the past four years while I’ve served as a student ministry leader at Lutheran Church of Hope. My journey to become the spiritual leader God has called me to be requires the completion of a one-year internship in an ELCA congregation.

Although Hope has been, and continues to be, a spectacular community to be a part of and instrumental in my development as a transformational leader, I have prayerfully decided to experience this upcoming, brief season of ministry in a much less familiar and less comfortable context. On June 24, I will leave my post as Ignition Coordinator to focus on school and begin the transition to a new role as pastoral intern at Rock of the Foothills Lutheran Church in La Verne, CA.

As the time approaches for this new journey to begin, I have complete faith that God will continue to bless the Ignition high school ministry and allow it to move forward to reach new students with the everlasting love of Jesus Christ under the leadership of Mike Lindsay, a talented addition to the Ignition team.

The past four years at Lutheran Church of Hope have been unforgettable and my wife Heather and I are really excited about a probable return in a year. We desire to be a part of all that God has in store for such an incredible church in the near future and look forward to seeing what opportunities God provides. Above all, we are confident He has great plans in store for us, Ignition and Lutheran Church of Hope!

Thank you for the opportunity  to get to know you all through Ignition! Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

In His joy,

Andy Hermanson

Ignition's May Mission Project

Have any extra shoes laying around your house? Lutheran Church of Hope took shoes to Jamaica this past spring break on a whim and was blown away by the results. He's going back this month and would love any donations you can provide! See the video and the information below for details.

Ignition will be collecting shoes May 1st, 8th and 15th. Simply bring any quality shoes you'd like to donate to the Worship Gathering and put them in the box in the foyer and we'll take care of the rest!

Collide: Series Preview

Here's a sneak peek at our last Series of the year; Collide.

Ask anyone who’s ever run into a sliding glass door that was closed, or went for the same baseball as a teammate, or experienced a fender bender at a stoplight—a collision changes things. Whether it’s a bump on the head or a cracked bumper, something is not the same as it was before. The same thing happens when we collide with God or His truth or even other people. We’re changed. But unless we put ourselves in a position to collide, everything will stay the same. So are you ready to change, are you ready to collide?

Wondering what you can do to make a difference? Ignition is gearing up for another great 30 Hour Famine April 15-16th and is in need of incredible students to join in the fun of planning this student-run event! The first meeting has been scheduled for Thursday night at 7pm. Here are the details.

Who: You and Your Friends

Where: Lutheran Church of Hope. This week in RM 213. Other weeks the location may vary.

When: Thursday's at 7pm.

Not sure what a 30 Hour Famine is? It's a 30 Hour experience where students raise funds to fight world hunger, experience poverty to identify with those less fortunate and learn about God's heart for the poor. There's service, worship, fellowship and oh yeah...no food! It's a transformational experience.
